ALT routinely meets with engineers to assess the application and understand the process a label goes through. We then offer ways to eliminate unnecessary costs and provide innovative cost saving solutions. A typical process would be to provide actual production samples for immediate review. We print the prototype samples in several different materials for testing and visual approvals. When a prospect/customer has actual production label samples right from the beginning of a project it expedites the sometimes drawn-out testing process. Engineers can then pinpoint a certain material as approved.
At this stage we offer our Vendor Management Inventory concept to the customer. This procedure goes as follows. Upon receipt of forecasted production quantities we quote the price based on a year's worth of parts. Included in the quote is stated that we print the whole year's requirements in one press run. The parts are then put into a secured inventory area specifically for the customer. Parts are then released as needed for same or next day delivery. This system eliminates rush charges, stock outs and excessive waste and the unit price stays fixed-- with the very best of quality!
The customer gets an annual volume price and we hold the their inventory for immediate delivery. This VMI program has earned ALT lots of happy customers and an excellent reputation in the automotive world.
